Hitler’s Black Soldiers: Nazi Racial Laws and Men of Non-German Descent in Hitler’s Army & Reich by Weronika Kuzniar
Military Historian Weronika Kuzniar Clark has “dared” to challenge the absurdly one-sided version of the Third Reich. This book, unlike so many, challenges the usual Third Reich history. Primary evidence, foreign language material, Hitler speeches, and dozens of photos that have either been omitted or obfuscated have finally been brought forth in this amazing, unbiased analysis of Hitler’s army & empire.
Why would any Black person volunteer to fight for the Nazis? And how could such a thing even happen?
We have all been systematically indoctrinated to believe, without question or critical thought, that the Nazis were the “most lethally racist regime in all of history.” But is this true?
No. It is not.
In a span of just 6 years, the “most lethally racist regime in all of history” created the most ethnically, politically, culturally, religiously, racially, and militarily diverse fighting force in Western history. This book explains how and why this happened. It explains how National Socialism’s racism gave way under political and military pressure. Expand your intellectual horizons and dare to challenge your preconceived notions about Nazi racism.
You will not be disappointed!
You will come away from this war and society study with a deeper understanding of:
• racial dynamics in all Western societies before and since World War II; • Axis history in general; • Allied war criminality; • non-German Wehrmacht and SS service; • Adolf Hitler’s ambivalent racial views; • racial changes that occurred despite the official Nazi race ethos as a result of the war; • the tolerant, arbitrary or inconsistent treatment of Jews, black people, Roma, non-Germans and mixed-race people in Nazi Germany and in the Greater Reich.
“Mein Kampf contains numerous references to ‘blood’ (Blut) and ‘race’ (Rasse). This is always portrayed in the worst possible terms, as some kind of demonic, hate-filled, blind racism. But we must first realize that such talk was commonplace in the early 20th Century; Hitler’s terminology, though shocking today, was actually quite conventional at the time. Not being a scientist, and few having much understanding of genetics at the time, it is understandable that he would use such terms.
Therefore, a literal interpretation of such words is misleading. In modern terminology, Hitler’s ‘race’ is better viewed as ‘ethnicity.’ He was more an ethnicist than a racist. His call for justice for the “German race” is really on behalf of ethnic Germans—the Volk. Thus understood, his view is much less threatening than commonly portrayed. Yes, he viewed ethnic Germans as superior. Yes, he wanted the best for his people. Yes, he was not much interested in the welfare of minorities or other nationalities. This is hardly a sin. Many people around the world today fight for precisely such things, for their own ethnicities. And they are right to do so.
Even today, it is reasonable and appropriate to discuss issues of race. It is a relevant term in biological taxonomy, indicating the highest-level sub-grouping within the species Homo sapiens. By some accounts, there are three races: White/Caucasian, Black/Negroid, and Mongoloid/Asian. Within each race, we have the various ethnicities—of which there are some 5,000 worldwide.
By this measure, Hitler cared little about race. He made a few dismissive comments about Blacks, but nothing that wasn’t standard at the time. He actually admired certain people of the Asian race, especially the Japanese. But his primary concern was among the various White ethnicities. He sought a position of strength and influence for ethnic Germans; he sought alliances with ethnic Britons; and he sought to oppose ethnic Jews.
Then there is Hitler’s infamous talk of ‘Aryan.’ Apart from passing mention elsewhere in the book, it is discussed in detail only in Chapter 11 of Volume 1. While there is no talk of any ‘superman’—no reference to Nietzsche’s Übermensch, for example—it is clear that Hitler views the Aryan as the highest human type, the greatest ethnicity, mover and creator of civilization. Notably, he never defines Aryan. Rather, we learn only what the Aryan is not: he is not Black, not Oriental, and certainly not Jewish. The Jew is the anti-Aryan, his dark and corrupting opposite. The Aryan builds, the Jew destroys. The Aryan produces, the Jew consumes. The Aryan is idealistic, the Jew materialistic.
In the end, the Aryan is distinguished not by his superior intelligence, nor his great creativity, but mainly by his altruism: the Aryan is a self-sacrificing person, more willing than any others to work on behalf of society. Thus he builds civilization and culture, and spreads it to the world. Non-Aryans, to the extent that they have a culture, get it from the Aryans, even as they customize it to their own needs. But the original source and sustainer is the self-sacrificing Aryan.
The word ‘Aryan’ has an interesting origin, and it has nothing to do with the Germans. It comes from the Sanskrit arya, meaning ‘noble.’ It originally referred to the people and language that moved into India from the north around 1500 BC. In the Indian caste system, the Aryans became the Brahmans—the highest and noblest caste. It was they who cultivated the Sanskrit language, and ultimately developed Indian culture. And a final point of interest: Those immigrants from the north came from the region that is known today as the Iranian plateau. In fact, the word ‘Iran’ derives directly from ‘Aryan’; the Iranians were the original Aryans.
Not being a scholar of ancient history, and having no Internet at hand, Hitler knew little of all this. He simply picked up on prior German and European usage. In fact, talk of Aryans as a superior race predated Hitler by several decades. It was a main theme of Frenchman Arthur de Gobineau’s book Essay on the Inequality of the Human Races, of 1855. And it was prominent in Briton-turned-German author Houston Stewart Chamberlain’s book Foundations of the Nineteenth Century, published in 1899. By the time Hitler picked up on the term, it was old hat.”
This is almost identical (oxymoron, I know) to what I have written re: Hitler’s race views in my many books addressing this topic, either directly or in passing.
The first book in Ms. Kuzniar Clark’s non-fiction tetralogy is the story of Gustav Sabac el Cher. Gustav, a black man with a gift for discipline and music, grew up in Königsberg and became “the only black bandmaster of the German Army.”
This fact-filled story takes the reader back in time, over 150 years ago. There we meet the controversial Prussian Prince Albrecht, getting to know him via his travel adventures, as well as in war. Prince Albrecht brought many things from Arabia back to Prussia, one of which was a ‘human gift’ from the Egyptian Viceroy Muhammad Ali: a seven-year-old dark-skinned boy. He was given the name August Albrecht Sabac el Cher and accompanied the Prince from that point on.
The social climate of the Prussian state of the 40s and 50s was one of curiosity towards “others,” not hostility. August’s dark skin greatly benefited him, in fact. His career at Court flourished.
In 1867, he married a German woman, Anna Maria Jung, the daughter of a Berlin clothesmaker. While the happy couple lived relatively trouble free in Germany, their two children, Gustav and Elise, were dealt a different fate, as were their children who came of age in NAZI GERMANY.
Utilizing photos, records, and eyewitness accounts, this wonderful little book paints a comprehensive picture of the whole family. One learns, for example, that Gustav’s sons, Herbert and Horst, were deeply loved by all. Both mastered music early on and both pursued professional careers. While Herbert continued in this vein with measurable success, Horst was not so fortunate. In 1943 he was drafted as a Wehrmacht medic!
You’ll have to read the book to find out what happened…
Interior Minister Arye Dery acknowledged Monday that Israel cannot force the departure of all asylum seekers from Africa, who number upwards of 40,000.
“Even if problems with third countries are resolved we won’t be able to remove all the infiltrators. There is a certain amount with whom I’ll know how to contend and divide up. Right now it’s too large a mass for us,” said Dery on Monday in an interview with on Army Radio.
Dery reiterated that Israel was trying to amend the agreements reached with third countries so that the consent of deportees is no longer required before they are sent to those countries. In the meantime, the Population and Immigration Authority is promoting an amendment to the law regulating entry into Israel, which would allow the indefinite detention of asylum seekers who refuse to go to Rwanda or Uganda. The Supreme Court has restricted the incarceration of people refusing to leave to two months.
Dery criticized the Supreme Court’s decision. “We hid nothing from the Court. The Court sent us back and forth several times and received the outline of our agreement with third countries, who expressly knew that we were not taking people to airplanes in handcuffs and that people refusing to go would remain under guardianship here until they consented to leave. These countries and the Court knew this, so I’m surprised that they ignored this point,” he said.
In response to a question of whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was surprised by what he saw on a visit to south Tel Aviv, Dery replied in the affirmative several times. The two toured the area in a car with dark-tinted windows, guided by people from the Population and Immigration Authority. This was Netanyahu’s second visit there within a span of several days. In his first eight years in office he had not been there once.
Dery: In south Tel Aviv, “you hardly see any Israeli out at night”
“When you see the atmosphere there, on a pleasant day with everyone outdoors, it’s nice to see,” said Dery. “But when you look at the buildings and streets and you know what Neve Sha’anan, Levinsky and HaGdud HaIvri Streets and the park used to look like, everything has been wiped out. You hardly see any Israeli in the dark hours and it wasn’t even that late. You see those families and their children. When you hear police reports on what goes on there at night and you realize that Tel Aviv residents still live there, Israelis and Jews who found a place for themselves there. Why are they to blame?”
Dery voiced some veiled criticism at his Shas rival Eli Yishai, who was interior minister between 2009 and 2013, when most African asylum seekers entered Israel. “I really don’t know who put them on buses after they crossed the fence on the border with Egypt, bringing them to Tel Aviv. Who decided to bring them there, of all places? Who decided to place them among the weakest population and destroy its way of life and its neighborhoods? The issue of who made this cruel and foolish decision should be looked into. I opposed it when I saw it,” he said.
The new director-general of the Population and Immigration Authority, Prof. Shlomo Mor-Yosef, who assumed his post last month, said in an interview to Reshet Bet radio that it might be possible to deal with the asylum seekers in Israel, but if conditions are eased many others might come. “On a personal level and as an option that’s on the table, of course it’s an option. Ultimately one could say that there is a certain number here and further entry has been blocked, so let’s deal with these 40,000 people. This is a limited problem which could have a solution. But what if 20,000 others arrive?” he asked. “What happens when they see that the state can live with that, saying OK, keep on coming? That’s why such a decision is not on the agenda now. No one is raising this as a possibility. Now we want to minimize the numbers of illegal infiltrators in Israel.”
Mor-Yosef related to criticism of Dery’s announcement that he would forbid the employment of asylum seekers who refuse to leave for a third country. “We aren’t starving them. It’s not at that level. Illegal migrants cannot work, according to the entire world. At one point there was no option so we let them work in order to survive. Now there is an option which Israel prefers. No one is starving them. They are given $3,500, a plane ticket and accompaniment to a third country so that they can live there peacefully. The state wants them to exercise that option and if they don’t, it doesn’t want to provide them with any more benefits.”
AS: “I know what I am actually saying and I will not read an entire book only to satisfy your demands or to read about hypothesis modern science already refuted.”
Me: Out of Africa is disputed, not debunked. There’s a big difference. And I am not saying that all humans originated in Africa anyway, nor is Sergi. You did not read his book and apparently refuse to do so.
Right up front in the portion of his intro which you cut and pasted above, Sergi acknowledges that the Eurasiatic race also left its mark on Germans and throughout Europe (today’s Russian backed thesis). What he disputes is that the Germans are Aryans. If you can prove otherwise, I would like to see that because the Nazi researchers themselves acknowledged that Germans were/are not Aryans. The researcher who pushed the German-Aryan-Nordic thesis was Hans F. K. Guenther, and he had no anthropological credentials. He was a faux researcher in this respect. I would invite you to read the work of Gregor, a university professor who further discredits the German-Aryan-Nordic thesis. In any case, this is why the Nazis dropped the term officially, which I already went over. They also struggled with the term Nordic later on.
You apparently do not understand the passage above that you yourself cut and pasted. You misinterpreted that information.
What Sergi says is that the Eurafrican race, which originated on the continent of Africa and emigrated to Europe, branched off into three subgroups, which included the Nordic and Mediterranean races. Those two branches then differentiated from the primordial Eurafrican core race owing to their respective geographies/climates/circumstances/racial mixing-infusions ex post facto.
AS: “If the Aryans comes from Africa continent then from where the Negroes comes from?”
Me: Please show me where Sergi makes the claim that Aryans originated in Africa.
I cover all of this and much, much more in my trilogy…
My own book Nation & Race gets into skull shape in detail. I explore Mediterranean race theory vs. Nordic race theory as well. Incidentally, Sergi proved that the Germans were also predominantly brachycephalic, not dolichocephals like the true Nordics. Basically a lot of Nazi race theory was rooted in mythology (e.g., the “Aryan race”).
Thank you to the person who sent this along. Much appreciated since it (in part) supports my own thesis.
